Last year we commented on a difference in how sports teams are referred to in Britain and New Zealand: “England are playing well”, but “New Zealand is playing well”.

Skelt was yesterday named as the Southland Hawke Cup head coach for the 2008-09 season, replacing Kevin Cooper, who will remain with the association as a professional junior coach and groundsman.
