V.A. Clinic Focused On Mental Health
Jun 16th, 2008 | By admin | Category: HealthThe Veterans Administration is opening a ninth satellite health care clinic today in Mankato.
V.A. spokesman, Ralph Heussner, says the facility will put special emphasis on mental health care needs.
“Mental health is a high priority for the V.A. Our facility has added 40 staff in the last year. With the additional staff, we’re able expand those services in Mankato. This afternoon, hopefully, the first patients will be seen at the Mankato clinic,” Heussner said.
Heussner said the Mankato facility will be more convenient for some veterans in south-central Minnesota. Until now, they have had to travel to V.A. facilities in Rochester, St. James or Minneapolis.
