Potomac College Launches New Business Program
May 31st, 2008 | By admin | Category: BusinessPotomac College in D.C. and its sister college, the University of Business and International Studies of Geneva, will offer an international business degree that combines studies in the U.S., Switzerland and online beginning this summer.
The D.C. school’s first-ever international program was conceived when the owner of Potomac College, New York-based Hamilton White Group, added the University of Business and International Studies to its portfolio this spring.
“The reason we did this [international program] is because as we talked to students, we sensed a need from international contingencies to get exposure to American business and education but also European” business, said Oksana Malysheva, principal at Hamilton White Group. “Our students want to see the world and get rigorous exposure to both kinds of Western business and education systems.”
To foster a real-world business experience, both schools are actively searching for premier local employees at companies such as The World Bank, Booz Allen Hamilton and Verizon Communications to participate as professors in the international endeavor.
“We consider them subject matter experts, bringing to the institution the capability to show students what is happening in today’s business,” said Florence Tate, president of Potomac College. “We will be asking corporations to participate with us and provide internships so that the students have the possibility of walking into a company and participating in their actual day-to-day activities.”
