“Our regional expansion plan entails the opening of new boutiques in the current fiscal year inclusive of our own outlets as well as through franchise partners and Kuwait is a prominent part of this expansion drive,†remarked Mr. Tornieporth
Commenting on the reasons for choosing Kuwait for the boutique opening, Mr. Tornieporth said that luxury products were well received in Kuwait because of the country’s booming economy. “Oil in Kuwait was discovered in the late 1930s and since that time, the country has become one of the most influential economies in the Middle East. With an estimated 10% of the world’s oil reserves, every sector has reaped the benefits of oil profits,†he stressed.
“Kuwait is an affluent, relatively open economy that has been boosted by high oil prices in recent years resulting in a positive fiscal situation,†observed Mr. Tornieporth.
